@qbrad: A properly maintained airplane, nope. One ignored or flown by lunatics, yep.

@Benedinho: I'm terrified of heights. Being on staircases with no vertical boards between steps even freaks me out. I LOVE flying though, and those see-through floors would be awesome. Take-off, landing, crusing, crashing...

So...watching that video...apparently it destroys aircraft so extensively that they don't make a splash when they hit the ocean...

@englishman: no, wing is pointing out that you said you could go buy one for 300$ - typo on your part

So when do we get those suits marines have in StarCraft2 ?

@Revenge_of_Nekojin: There have actually been good things to come out of 4chan, no matter how deplorable you think it is. Anonymity is not a bad thing and doesn't discredit something. It doesn't matter who's putting the point forward as long as it's valid, and that being "f-ing creepy" is a valid point.

@Lord_Data: No, they're right. The top of the oil well that you see on the news is capped.

@Slade: Pretty much..by which time iPhone 5 or some major revision of 4 is probably going to be out so they can just buy the new ones.

@FredicvsMaximvs: They give the robot an ultimatum - stop or go boom.

They might be doing a silent recall, but they're still selling faulty units. My friend got a new one last week and I was fiddling with it. Soon as I bridged that gap the 4 bars went bye-bye until I let go and held it differently.

@Slade: Most of the parts on your car are designed to fail after the warranty. How do you think they come up with the arbitrary numbers for that stuff? It's all statistics - like 10-20% of products will fail before the warranty is up, and the rest will fail soon after if they fail at all.

I honestly don't know why people are moaning about the price. Before this latest gen of consoles came out, we were getting a new system every 5 years. Well, it's been about 5 years, and instead of a new console, we have drastically new hardware.

@secretmanofagent: Where are those little doohickeys on the side that whistle when it flies?

@Ridley: I can agree on the costing way too much unnecessary money. I think the main issue is the quick turnaround time on these sorts of vehicles. With things like jet engines and such, it takes 8-9 years to fully develop a new one, and that's probably too short a time. I can't imagine dev time on one of these being

I saw no plasma loudspeakers sir, I am deeply saddened. I've been thinking of building one, but the lack of circuitry know-how and initiative has prevented that. As well as a way to unobtrusively and quietly catalyze all of the ozone they produce so I don't die listening to my music.

@Ridley: It's my impression that fighter drones aren't in demand, but long term aerial surveilance drones - such as this plane - are. They've been trying to get longer flight times out of the Global Hawk to maximize its effectiveness...this seems to solve that issue, rather hugely at that.

You could actually charge a flywheel for a while and discharge it completely to get that kind of speed. Then it's more of just generating enough angular momentum with a wheel (the elephant/golf ball scenario - you can do an equal amount of damage with a golf ball traveling fast enough as with an elephant) to equal the

Poor...poor Canadians...

@Yokai: You can't post on those forums unless you have a CD key attached. Most people already have their accounts. So unless someone buys the game so that they can troll, it's not going to happen. Will it eliminate trolling/flaming, not completely, but it'll cut it by at least 90%.
