I know this for sure, my initial thought years ago when I heard SyFy had gotten the airing rights for The Expanse (over other interested parties which included HBO) has come back with a vengeance, and my distaste for SyFy will now never die.

It also seems like it’s contributed generally to a disdain of people with an actual medical issue, since there’s no immediately obvious way to tell the difference between some ding-dong on a fad diet and someone who’s gonna shit their brains out in an hour if you feed them the wrong thing.

My brother has celiac, and that’s been his experience. He was diagnosed in the early 80s, back when “gluten-free” meant cardboard-like rice bread ordered through the mail, and when the gluten craze first started he was very excited about all the options. But he quickly learned that a lot of things are mislabeled

This is pretty insensitive since this is about people who have celiac disease. You know, those people who actually need a gluten-free diet to not be perpetually sick.
