My cars’ steel plugs only want 18-20 lb-ft; that one probably only wants about 10!

I did that with my Harley trans once. I rode it for a year or two before I realized it, but never had any indications of a problem then or since - easily 20 years!

I can tell you what mine were - mowing yards and delivering papers. Both jobs that “kids” can still do now. Working in stores and restaurants would probably pay a lot more - then and now. Pay rates for everything have gone up at least as much as cheap used car prices have.

There are many parents that feel that way. Where I live in Northern Virginia, it’s almost unheard of for parents to not buy their kids cars, and they’re often new! And, if the kid wrecks the brand new car, they buy the kid ANOTHER new car!

Whichever one they can afford to buy and support with their own money.....
