You know, that is why emergency responders are taught to keep their heads in a crisis. Why they go thru training simulations. So that they don’t pull the resources of other responders due to rash decisions.

Of all people, a cop should have known better.  Solid 10/10 derps.

Exactly. People are here arguing to cut the cop some slack... funny because cops do not cut civilians any slack, even when there are valid reasons to do so. I was talking to this cop about how the flashing lights at a nighttime construction site can be blinding and disorienting sometimes and he starts acting like I’m

So the driver is going to be disciplined for causing a completely unnecessary accident, wrecking a police car all while failing to follow the rules?

That would be funny, except that they are going to make that engineer piss in a cup and prove he was sober becuase the cop broke the rules.

Well, they are mouth breathers.

The cop became a victim of tunnel vision, most cops need to get involved with a vehicle pursuit of some criminal that ends up with more injuries and damage. Hopefully this is a learning moment for this officer.

Horn or the distinct ground rumble of those units barreling towards him?

Both videos are inaccurately titled as ‘train hits cop’.  Even your article wrongly casts the poor train as the aggressor.  They should say - ‘cop picks fight with train, loses.

Well, cops do tend to see themselves as above the law. Just not above the laws of physics.

I never said I wasn’t.

Clearly in need of more...training.

What a moron. You never cross a train track until the arms are up and the bells and lights are off. That’s one of the most rudimentary rules taught in driver’s education for a reason. I can’t even count how many times I’ve been shown videos of railroad crossings in school and driver’s ed where this exact scenario is

Just because McLaren didn’t make the starting grid, why should they not hang around and enjoy the event nonetheless?

OMG! My cousin has one of those. It’s been sitting in the garage since 1980/81 and has 100 original miles.

in fairness he ran a 227.353 average in a car setup for 227.500 and 33rd spot was 227.372, so Alonso just didn’t get all he could out of the car /snark/.

Still good business to bring clients/prospects to a boozy prestigious race weekend. Would have been better with their car and driver participating in the race, but still.

The biggest issue was the gear ratios, they used the wrong ratios that left a 227 mph top speed, instead of the 229 that car was capable of. He lost the 33rd spot by just a few tenths of a mph.

72 hos is a full tournament.
