My first thought when I saw the headline and read the story was, “I know there will be commenters who will say this wasn’t the driver’s fault...”

Right - if he’d been black, this would have been national headlines for weeks, now - and the family would already have tens of millions of dollars.

Which is just the opposite of what it should be, since the accusee is presumed innocent, and she is the one doing the accusing.

And there’s the racist...

Why in the world would one have to kill someone to be criminally negligent?

How do you know?  That wasn’t in the article, either.

Exactly - it wasn’t in the story.  Nor was a lot of other stuff.  What was he doing out of the vehicle in the first place?

Good for you...critical thinking is a rare thing here.

...and don’t forget there’s almost certainly a lot more to this story.

Many more white than black are killed. 

Or maybe he said cops kill a lot more “unarmed” white people than “unarmed” black people, and you “interpreted” it a little “differently.”

You would have heard of it day of if the kid was black.

He didn’t know she was pregnant (and neither do we - it’s a standard claim women make, for time immemorial) - but he was  a little too persistent in getting her to stop.

Make sure you don’t wait for the other side of the story!
