Anyone know of a mass-notification service (like Amazon SNS) that plays nicely with SMS?

I never use wooden cutting boards for raw meat, but do the same dangers exist when slicing cooked meat like a brisket?
Why is there always a pet in the photo for the open thread?

Agreed, this seems like a really elegant way to handle multi-party videoconferencing, specifically when everyone has their own camera (as opposed to two groups near two laptops)
Yeah this "high five" or whatever it's called got all screwed up. It's Alan's fault for not sticking to his his original criteria when he called for nominations, and including Google Calendar in the votable choices.
When you're on wifi, this depends on the connection's DNS settings. Many ISPs love to hijack these pages to present you with a page full of ads.
The point is the mindset it puts you in. Obviously it's not for people with the level of self-discipline you possess, I should have clarified. Sorry!
Sounds neat, but... is this legal?
LH posted a tip months back about "dressing the part" that I find to be great for putting you in the right mindset. It's easy to roll out of bed and spend the day at your laptop in your bathrobe, but your productivity will suffer. Dress the way you would in the office.

Yes, but this poll / high five is (supposed to be) about desktop calendaring, is it not?
This poll makes no sense, if gCal is (as you recognize) not technically a desktop app, why is it being included in the poll? Judging by the results to date, I'm curious how you're going to write the follow-up blog post about how gCal is the best desktop calendaring app.
Best "Desktop" calendaring app — wouldn't this exclude Google Calendar?
On a Mac, you can use the "Today" predefined search in the finder. Your file will be at or near the top!
I'm really not a fan of debit cards. With any disputed charge, the money is already "gone", and you are fighting to get it back (as opposed to a credit card, where you haven't yet paid for it, and in theory have a window of time before you've sent payment). And American Express is, in my experience, the only company…
Just what I was going to say, but I'd like to add this: they don't cover extended or secondary coverage (which covers damage to the other vehicle in an accident), so if you like to feel covered, make sure you buy that. But be sure to specify that you do not want to buy the primary or basic insurance.
Wouldn't it be awesome if you could ask iOS to autosort your apps by open count or use time?
Haha, my thought exactly.
