Yes, I did, Larry.
It's not so clear to me that the Apple ones are such a horrible deal. You linked to 4 batteries with a charger for $20 (vs Apple's which includes 6 for $29), but said that the charger they supply broke after "not so long." So then the next comparable option is to buy the 8 batteries ($19) and the better charger you…
Maybe you can point out where you can buy them cheaper, but I'm seeing 6 Sanyo batteries + charger for $29.99 (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/sanyo-universal-4-position-charger-with-6-eneloop-1500-aa-batteries/h71985000000000?src=3WWRWXGP&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CL-EmpaXvbICFYnd4AodZhIAXg) and the 6 batteries +…
I've really come to love the rechargeables Apple sells. They are pricey up-front, but you get 6 batteries that each last very long and the charger is small enough that I just leave it plugged into the wall all the time. Highly recommended.
Haha, just teasing, I just liked how you included the pens in your packing list. Have a good trip.
Dirt is a year-round phenomenon, and unless you are literally hibernating, you're going to track it into your house year-round. Spring cleaning is a good thing. I agree that people ought to do a big clean more than once a year, but .. "argh"?
I was just at my local Ikea, and in the "as-is" department (which I think consists almost entirely of returns), there were a suspiciously high number of these bathroom units on sale for about half off.
How to build a nice two-person desk for $104 from Ikea parts
"A couple of pens" … but no toiletries?! :)
Yeah this is kind of risky, I have gate checked items before and they somehow did not get put on the flight. While I assume this is also theoretically a possibility with bags you check at the desk, the only time I've had some luggage disappear is when I gate checked it.
I just flew to LAX and opted out of the backscatter machine. It was kind of stressful, having never been through a pat-down before, and I didn't realize they'd ask me to take everything out of my pockets (and take my wallet so they could run it through the X-ray machine). I ended up leaving before they returned my…
Haha, yep, I've done this a handful of times and had it work *almost* every time. It's particularly helpful if you're travelling with a lap infant.
The fact that you can make many more at once this way than you can in a pan is great. Seems like a nice way to make quesedillas, too.
Took the words right out of my mouth :)
I've always really wanted to love Jawbone — I bought the first and second generation headsets when they came out — but I've always been disappointed, probalby because of all the fuss they made about the noise cancellation that didn't match my experience (remember that video of the guy in the windy car?).
I don't know about other Ikea stores, but the one in Elizabeth NJ has an "as-is" section where you can get assembled (and usually chipped/scratched/etc) furniture at a pretty steep discount (20%-80% depending on the condition). If this project strikes your fancy, you'd probably also enjoy hunting for bargains and…
Fair enough, I guess I'm just reflecting on how I would personally handle that kind of policy. It wasn't quite "unlimited", but I did work a job where time off was not at all defined, and I felt like I was asking for a favor every time I wanted to go on vacation. It felt horrible. Contrast with knowing exactly how…
Wow, talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing. If you have a finite number of days, you feel well within your rights to use those days. If you are salaried, and can take off as much as you want, you'd be far less likely to use as many days because each day you take would probably be perceived as being "less devoted" to…
