Maybe this is obvious, but if you're thinking of "beating the rush" to get a good email address before it's public, realize that the service has been running for a few years already. If this was icloud.com or something similar, it'd be a different story.

It's still pretty buggy. It is definitely not ready to run on your primary phone. I wouldn't install it on any device I couldn't get by day-to-day without.

Fresh herbs are definitely one of the easiest things to save money on by growing yourself. A sprig of rosemary at the grocery is a buck or two at least, I've found. The stuff is pretty hardy and will grow in abundance even on a fire escape balcony in a little pot.

Are you sure iCloud does live streaming? My understanding is that it will let you re-download music on demand, but it won't truly stream as you listen.
