I've played around with tons of them. They all still suffer from the same laggy, not-as-responsive interface. With an android device, it feels like my gestures and touches are signals that are translated into input for the OS to decipher. on an iOS device, my gestures and touches feel like they are directly

Not if, like numerous android devices, I have to charge it three times a day.

I guess we have different definitions of "smooth"

The pool filled with slow, kludgy, jumpy, battery draining, knockoffs? Even with better specs, iOS devices have performed better because of the hardware/software integration. Android has to work with a large variety of possible hardware, creating an imperfect environment when it comes to performance.

Macrumors had a designer mock up an iPhone based on the supposed specs provided for case manufacturers. The designer's results didn't match with the cases that have been spotted, meaning either a) the cases are incorrect, b) the specs the designer was given are incorrect. Either way, there seems to be some doubt as to

left/right gestures, but no need on this type of interface for right/left click

It definitely looks snappier than any other Android device out there, but I think the flaws still lie in the software. There are still some annoying tiny delays and things in Android, even in the video here that I've experienced in every Android device I've seen/tried out/used.

Oh look, Gizmodo is being a stick in the mud again. Seriously, extreme sports or daring and risky hobbies aren't idiotic. Someone wanting to put themselves at risk of possible danger to do something enjoyable doesn't make them an idiot. Automatically saying it does just makes you sound like a bubble-boy wannabe. Stay

A hardware keyboard on the back of a clamshell isn't even close to a multi-touch rear panel...

agreed. The 3G/3GS was the worst iPhone design by far, so far.

Oh how much I would hate multi-touch on the back. Holding the phone without making inadvertent scroll actions or something would be a pain. Not to mention it would likely become a necessity to use 2 hands to use it (one to hold the phone, one to multi-touch the back). I also think the larger screen wouldn't be

Perhaps, but if that's the case they could do it in a way that doesn't make them sound like a bunch of stupid sticks in the mud. It sure doesn't seem worded as a CYA disclaimer, more of a "this is a cool video, but don't do it yourself, you're too stupid"

Is Samsung even trying to hide their habit of ripping off Apple anymore?

Why is gizmodo all of a sudden in the habit of talking to us like we're 4 years old, and they're our mother? Don't throw your camera, you're going to break it. Don't do daring things on trains, you'll die. Don't do this, don't do that. yadda yadda.

It didn't form, it was a copy

Companies keep pushing and screaming the benefits of HTML5 and how it's going to change everything, but every great example put out by companies like Google are proprietary to their own browser. If it's so great, why limit it to Chrome? FF and Safari both support the same HTML5 stuff, when can we get away from built

Will the general public be as outraged when, after this merger is stopped, Sprint buys T-Mobile instead? T-Mobile is either going to get bought or just go under at the rate they are going, why is it anti-competitive for AT&T to buy them, but totally ok for Sprint to?

Beyond the fact that you're not even talking about what the video displayed, 'overpopulation' has a lot less to do with acreage/person, and far more to do with the resources people consume. We aren't overpopulated because of the proximity separating us from our neighbor, but because the local environment cannot

This just makes me think that it's actually going to be harder to find a lot of things, as sites with larger followers will get more activity through +1s, even if the content isn't the best or most relevant. Google search results will turn into a popularity contest (even moreso than they already are) as opposed to

Yes, people who do adventurous things MUST be hanging out with only drug addled fans...
