I'd rather someone just pick up where John Carpenter left off and make Escape From Earth with Russell as Plissken.

Pretty sure Carpenter has little to no desire to keep directing at this point. He has been pretty blunt in the past in regards to enjoying the paychecks he gets from his films being remade.
