a car is a complicated machine. everyone should learn the gear selector at least. in a 98 protege, you can just turn the ignition off. then turn it back on and you still ahve steering control w/o the engine on.

I find it impossible to believe every story where the transmission is stuck in drive.

those are some very modern day wheels on that prototype. In fact I believe the last year RX-8 had that wheel design. Weird considering back then you're hard pressed to find any non-5spoke designs that came OEM.
