*zips up flamesuit* I’ve alwys viewed Mitja’s designs as a German’s interpretation of an Italian car. Like if you asked BMW to make a Lamborghini (or in this case VAG). It shouldn’t matter but I can’t unsee it and feel like there’s something missing.

“We’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty.”

The GX is not a Land Cruiser 200. It’s effectively a Land Cruiser Prado with an ugly grille. It’s built on the same frame as the 4Runner.

In Europe it may be cheaper ticket wise to fly, but trains are not expensive, and the overall time/convenience is much better, as well as the comfort. Typically city center to city center, high speed, and virtually no security check or weather delays. Train service in the US is mostly abysmal.

Budget carriers have completely killed London-Paris as a cheap train option.

Fucking love the Sagaris but they are hefty money now, so I settled. Not one ounce of bitterness about it though

All of that up there is stuff Elon is pulling ex recto.”

Magnificent.

Our own David Tracy claims that Jeep (big surprise, right?) was the first to try this, with the front end design of the original Jeep Wagoneer:

Every resident of Pebble Beach just got a push notification.

This is absolutely a thing. I will say, my nose is not refined enough to distinguish between european vehicles but I could definitely pick out a Euro car vs. something else as they have a distinct nose flavor.

Nothing makes me smile like the smell of a 90's-early aughts Lexus leather interior.

Look at all that sidewall. YOU LOVE TO SEE IT.

What’s wrong is that this is what the Jalopnik commentariat has devolved into. We all used to be car fans but now all we do is bitch every time a company brings back an old concept because we think it can’t possibly recapture the magic we remember seeing through the rose-colored lenses of our youth. Not that it

“This allows for relatively long axle shafts, which means the axles’ constant-velocity joints won’t be at too steep of an angle when the suspension is at full droop.”

The lightweight version of the base Carrera may happen - there will probably be a new Carrera T. The 991 T was available with lightweight glass, RAS, the carbon buckets / rear seat delete. Sounds like that would actually be your perfect 992.

This EV won’t work for me because the commute to my job is 20 miles each way and once I get there they don’t give me enough money to buy this car.

Toyota HiLux, obviously:

Oh yeah? Like the million robo-taxis? Or the Tesla Roadster? Or the semi-truck? Or the Hyperloop? Level 4 self driving? Or the Gigafactory producing 1GW annually? Or the 1,200 km range to the Model S?

Ok, the whole “promise exciting new tech, to distract from other tech that was promised and never delivered” shtick is getting old. Meanwhile Tesla is delivering $100,000 cars that have quality control and finishing issues not seen on a Mitsubishi Mirage; they’ve only been building the Model S for what, a decade?

I’m curious about how the YouTuber finds models like these in such terrible condition.
