I have to resist the urge to hang out under my desk all day at work.

This is another creative way.

A similar law in Florida was deemed unconstitutional and Georgia tried something like this but stalled the measure to require those on public assistance to undergo drug testing to make sure the practice was actually legal. It actually costs a hell of a lot more money than it actually saves.

Yeah, I don’t understand the thought here. Are they under the impression that turning away addicts will make them just like, stop using? There’s so many different directions my mind is going in how wrong that conclusion is that I can’t chase a single one as follow-up.
And for that matter, isn’t drug testing

And the children of drug addicts.

The largest group of welfare recipients are senior citizens.

Not only it’s costly. Food stamp recipients use drugs at lower rates than the rest of the population. So it costs a lot to catch the whole 10 people who receive stamps and use drugs. http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2013/0…

so its state-sponsored treatment centers, not state-owned

Holy crap, can they just stop? Aren’t these the same people calling for declawing the so-called “Nanny State”?

Only if those assholes go first in order to get their paychecks and benefits.

What do they even mean by “junk food?”

Measures like this will only hit the most vulnerable population on public assistance: poor children. Why should they be punished because their parents didn't pass a drug test? Additionally, the amount of people on public assistance is so much smaller than anyone actually realizes it's just going to be a major

Never do get a satisfactory answer to this, but remind me again why drug addicts don’t deserve to eat food?

Well, it’s a lot harder to saw off Indiana, also.

Original design concept:

Your post almost seems to imply that we don’t still benefit from slavery... we just don’t have to personally see it anymore.

Wait, she thought by more American you’d be willing to work for free? Has she met us?

Shhhh ‘Murica is exceptional and everything was achieved through bootstrapping and the hand of God.

I did for a minute, too. But then I thought “If the media actually treated people like her\Kardashians\etc like this, maybe we’d have less of them”. So, good for you, Dave!

And then there’s all the cool things our slaves built:
