I’ve always interpreted it as a nice way of saying, “stop complaining” or “think of something nice to say instead of speaking negativity” or “quitcherbitchin.”

Everything you’re saying is right, and I know that, and you sound like our mom (lol.) I can only go by what I’ve observed for what seems like millennia (ok, nearly forty years.) If I tell her what she said/did, she wont listen, will only defend herself, and throw my own words and actions back at me.
I will make this fit on a Tshirt!
That’s how we all felt when Jon took over for Craig, way back in the day. And we, too, were pleasantly surprised by that MTV hack he once was.
I’ll fess up, because maybe it will help? I’m a sister who’s been in your sister’s shoes for several years now. In my case, I don’t want the inevitable long, drawn out fight (or even conversation), that in the end we both get defensive, both say things that hurt to hear, and both walk away no better than where we…
I consulted a few Dr Spock bytes online when I was a new mother and most of them made me want to throw my computer out the window.
In a way, I think that’s what happened to me and my friends when we each married and/or divorced and/or had kids, but not consciously or on purpose!
Thanks. My husband and remaining friends assure me that it was some quirk of groupthink in social dynamics, but of course I blame myself. Self-examination in these situations is always appropriate, but I’ve had to be careful not to let it escalate into some nasty depression fodder for a handful of years. My tactic?…
Peace be with you, friend. You have my heart and my warmest thoughts.
I’ve lost a lot of friends in the past few years. Friends come and go, sure, but this was a massive one-by-one walkout in a relatively short period of time, some more dramatically staged than others. While some made their exits quite public, there were two major common denominators:
One could say the same about cheese pizza.
Mine too!
Yeah! Great idea. Maybe just a lil bit though, not the whole farm.
HEHE!!! I have, and I say to myself, they must be new.
You have a favorite store too? I will drive further to go the one at Hancock center when there’s one half that distance from my house. The staff at both are great, but Hancock’s staff have been there forever and they’re more likely to not charge regulars for the “extra” guac.
I liked my drinks, but I did leave hungry.
YES. These require regular filing. I feel like a sassy comic book secretary filing my nails all the time, but if I didn’t, it would resemble a whole ‘nuther comic book character.
You have the sweetest, prettiest hands!!!
