I don't get the appeal. Always the ugliest era of car design to me.

Ahhh. People who buy the most expensive version of something because it’s the most expensive version of something. I’m not in that income bracket yet. Maybe some day.
Unfortunately, they only come in Lexus guise in Canada. I really want a 15-20 year old Cruiser but they really hold their damn value.
It drives me nuts that the worse version sells better.
Also, considering how that it is priced slightly above a Rubicon for a far superior vehicle, it’s a bargain.
Its the cheapest of its peers you realize.
It is interesting, for you Economics Majors out there, that Toyota moves MANY more of this truck with an LX Lexus badge on it— and at a much higher selling price.
Because you, and countless other Jalopnik commenters screaming at automakers don’t buy things. If you did, they’d make those things.
I almost always drive 5+ over the speed limit. If you’re close to me, it’s a “you” problem at that point. If you caught me snoozing, I’ll happily speed up. If I’m doing the speed limit, I’ll get on it a bit and give you that 5 mph cushion. If at that point you still want to leave your license plate imprint on my rear…
Yeah, tailgating and crashing is pretty funny, isn’t it. You twat.
It actually IS my option. It’s called freedom. They’re also MY consequences, so if I want to risk it, his freedom-hating sheep-ass fuckbaggery can piss right the hell off. Eat a dick, delicious and nutritious.
I don’t brake check people, but if someone is tailgating me I will slowly drop my speed. If you want to drive 5 feet behind me then we will go slowly.
You do know the speed limit is a cap, not a floor, right?
OK, but understand that the distance between cars is your reaction time in the event of an emergency, and if you’re tailgating me then I need to increase the distance between my car and the car in front of me in order to compensate for your lack of reaction time because I don’t want your car up my ass. I’m going to be…
It’s the ‘congratulations’ that makes it art for me
I’ve noticed it in hybrids too, but don’t own one myself so I couldn’t replicate conditions. Maybe it’s an expected speed behavior for vehicles notorious for going at or below the speed limit?
I have noticed the same thing with my Volt. Rarely do I get tailgated in my Silverado, but if I drive our Volt it seems there is always a tailgater. Guess some people just don’t like hybrid/electric cars. I drive both the same. Funny thing is I have the Volt because I’m a cheapskate, not because I’m anything close to…
Tailgating happens on single-lane roads too, though.
