Real Steel will always be my “Old Man Logan” story.

Same here. I’ve probably watched it 7-8 times and I tear up a little every time.

With you Germain. Totally love that movie and all the feelz. For me, a sequel would cheapen what was awesome in the first. It was a self contained story that finished what it set out to do. Now if you want to go all JJ and build a loosely related Real Steel universe of movies....

And this is where I point out that the movie was based on a Richard Matheson story, “Steel,” that had been previously filmed as an episode of the original Twilight Zone tv series.

I first watched it on a long international flight and thoroughly enjoyed (I had been hitting the free drinks fairly hard though). I watched it again on solid ground and in a more lucid state and again I enjoyed it. It’s a real good time film, and more deserving of recognition than it currently gets.

And that’s the other part that’s great- it had an actual ending. I’m a diehard SNL fan, but one of their greatest weaknesses is properly ending skits (whether it goes on too long or it just doesn’t wrap up). The ending was the punchline. It was a singular joke, with a punchline, and while I didn’t like it the first

I feel like this and lots of other takes on the skit are missing the point. Lots of discussion about the silliness, but no talk of the actual punchline...

I like Laverne Cox a lot, but she was completely wrong for the part.

In an world so full of strife and bitterly contested opinions about Superheroes and their movies, can we all agree at least on one thing: the John Williams Superman theme is the best superhero music theme, like, ever?

Donald was Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s uncle, too. Scrooge was presumably their great uncle. We’ve never seen either of their parents.

I’m actually ok with this. It beats the horrible tragedy my young mind had put together back then.

Now playing

Whatever you may think of the new films, Karl Urban’s portrayal of the character is spot on.

I actually like Mindy Kaling, but calling her and Reese Witherspoon “amazing actresses” is a big stretch.

Well, the quality of audio with a good DAC is probably going to be better than what you would get in the iPhone 7, so it might make the music sound better anyway.

As far as I’m concerned, neither Adams nor Bosworth has played Lois Lane. You aren’t Lois Lane until one of the previous Lois Lanes shows up to play your mom.

My biggest problem with Lois Lane in BvS is that her entire investigation subplot leads to her discovering what we the audience already knew - that Lex Luthor is the bad guy. In other words, you could cut it entirely and we wouldn’t lose any pertinent info.

Unpopular opinion: picking Blazing Saddles over Young Frankenstein is damn near criminal.

This should be a ritual when a beloved star dies. Show their best movies, perform their best concerts, recite their best books, etc...
