Haven't you heard of Hogwarts' fabled crew team? No? Me neither. I may be alone, but I felt this huge disconnect with the boathouse, having no other purpose in any other movie. Seemed really weird.

I don't the compare/contrast is the intent, as much as describing the analyzing and synthesizing of the material into a new medium. I think they're discussing the translation fairly well without the ol "The book was better" debate.
A hand-drawn animated Bone would be amazing. Especially with good voice actors. Get Kevin Conroy and Billy West in there, like, for most of the characters.
A Night Watch TV show would be the best TV show ever. With trolls.
The Dark Tower is this really cool story told in seven books that doesn't need seven books. That's my summary. It's really good when King isn't falling in love with his prose. But, yeah, it felt like walking through mud in a lot of bits.
Dang it! I thought I had something there. Well, I suppose now I ought to read them. What's a good one?
This is how I solved the interstellar travel problem. Just find an alternate universe exactly like this one, except several light years to the left. Pop in. You won't know the difference!
Exactly. They couldn't get the rights to the first movie, so they condensed the important bits. If you watch Evil Dead and then start Evil Dead 2 around the point Ash gets possessed in the puddle, it links up pretty well.
Marketing people. Pfh.
Baseketball, right? That movie gets nowhere near the love it should.
I'm going to parse a bit here - but what sticks out to me a lot here is the Bat-Symbol is "white." Here is the teaser poser for The Dark Knight. We have a distinct swap twixt the light and dark here, which I think is certainly on purpose. An excellent example of foreshadow even in a teaser poster. But what can we…
How exciting is it to have Dark Knight spoilers? Dang! And Fringe Spoilers! I AM SO EXCITED FOR FRINGE SPOILERS!
Brett was a great Holmes, but I'm going with Eridani on this one.
Saw the movie. Pretty good, except for the boom mike popping up from time to time.
I think the likeability is due to it being extremely funny. I laughed at pretty much all the jokes and enjoyed it.
I find that amusing as the original Planet of the Apes is the French novel. So, we have a French translation of the title of a movie made in the US that is a sequel to a movie based on a French novel.
That was Calvin's dad talking about the difference in speeds based on RPMs. A point closer to the middle is travelling less distance than a point near the edge, but in the same time. So the outside of a record is going faster than the middle.
denouement =/= epilogue. One is the bottom of the falling action after the climax, and the other is a tack-on after the denouement.
Hopefully by October we'll have Netflix again. I've always wanted to watch DS9 as I missed it the first round.
I had a similar experience with 5th Element. I loved it in the theater, but when my folks saw it later on on VHS they thought it was ridiculous and so I was like, oh man, this movie is silly. Later, my gf loved it and so I watched again and again enjoyed it.
