I wonder if it’s just “the police being jack-booted thugs with nothing better to do” type ticket?

This is just an excuse to pull some body over to justify getting a look-see in the car.

all the wagons! I love em but apparently “crossover” SUVs won. How people think that bulging tall unpractical blobs on wheels are more useful than long roofs baffles me.

Small Car Wagons in general... Saturn SW1/2, Escort / Focus wagons, VW Fox, Golf/Jetta Wagon.

Dodge Grand Caravan.

So, here me out...every minivan on the market now starts at $33,000 or more. They’re loaded with “features” and luxury and AWD and things to make people want to buy them over an SUV.

But as recently as 2020, Dodge was offering the Grand Caravan well below $30K, and it had all of the stuff you

Honda Fit. They really done messed up by never giving us a Si or Type-R version.

my cousin in India was absolutely thrilled by how much he was making in a new job. it amounted to about $430/month, which I’m pretty sure is significantly less than what these factory workers make.

I just got back from vaca in Mexico and groceries and beer cost $35 USD. Here in the US, the beer alone would have cost much more than $35.

Nice summary. Didn’t know about the two standards.

Having spent considerable time at the Nestle Purina plant just down the road in Silao, I couldn’t agree more. It’s a different world down there. A job making $3/hr in a plant is a dream for many Mexicans. Many of them are working their fingers to the bone outside in the elements for a fraction of that.

Hey look, actual facts. How refreshing. Thank you!

I see nobody has replied to you, probably because they have no argument against what you said. As someone who has spent quite a bit of time in Mexico, cost of living is absolutely the main difference between there and here. There’s no comparison in the cost of food or alcohol, and housing is incredibly cheap. Granted,

The Ram Saltillo Plant makes every Ram HD, the Ram Classic is made at the Warren facility in Detroit, The Current gen Ram (DT) is made in Sterling Heights facility in Detroit. There is also the Saltillo Engine plant that makes most of the (in house) motors for Dodge, Jeep, Chrylser, and Ram

I know the boxy grill and new hood and rear are kind of divisive, but I really like how this car looks. I hope whenever they actually make a new underneath for it, the bodywork stays similar for a while.

It’s kinda crazy how 5.x kg of hydrogen takes a 122 liter volume.

It may appear amazing in isolation, but this situation of vehicles stopped on freeways while distracted/tired drivers go by is happening constantly across the US. When eventually one driver veers off in the right spot to take out the stopped vehicle and it's all caught live on camera it makes it to the national news

Ehh with -that- much difference in mass and speed, the rear half of the vehicle that got hit probably just folded up and squashed the fuel tank with so much pressure that it popped like a balloon, all over the hot exhaust.

Never stop on the side of the freeway if you can avoid it.

Never stop on the side of the freeway if you can avoid it. I did many years ago and another driver fell asleep at the wheel and slammed into me while he was traveling 70+ mph. I should be dead. I spent over a week in the hospital. I’ve had lifelong back and knee problems as a result of the crash. Go to the next exit

I work for a paving company, albeit in the lab testing and designing asphalt mixes. This happens entirely too frequently, with idiots speeding through traffic control. We lost one of our traffic control guys earlier this year; worthless asshole drove through the cones and slammed into the back of the truck.
