I saw all of these (except The Natural) in the theater. The reason I didn't see the natural is because I was busy seeing all of the others. (I saw The Natural on HBO months later and thoroughly enjoyed it.)

The 1959 film was better.

how the frack would we screw it up?

Definitely. This. Definitely.

You forgot this one:

I realize there's a scientific explanation for this, but every time I read about something peculiar going on with/near Saturn, I always think back to this:

"Whatever their motivation, some people just don't step forward when people are asking questions - and those people might be more influential than we believe. "

I was going to say something similar (FWIW I love Cosmos, both old and new). What's interesting is that the old Cosmos I remember seemed to be centered around us nuking ourselves into oblivion, nuclear winter, etc.

You're right. "See you next Wednesday" is a nod to 2001; it was the last line of the birthday greeting to Frank Poole.

This short, hairy guy was frozen in a block of ice as I recall (although I couldn't find any pictures of him as a caveman-sicle).

I remember. But then I'm a child of the sixties. I had one (at least one) of these "Marshmallow Moon-Suits" to go with my collection of Major Matt Mason action figures (there were at least three or four figures, but all I have left is a green alien hiding in a drawer someplace sans half one of his legs).

I think Irwin Allen's "City Beneath the Sea" has that classic submerged metropolis feel. Lots of domes. (And "Captain Nemo and the Underwater City" has already been posted.)

Magic Kingdom

I'm a Disney(land) fanboy so I share your pain; it's like trying to explain to people that Disney World isn't (only) The Magic Kingdom. However, Disneyland has been referred to as Walt Disney's "Magic Kingdom" long before "The Magic Kingdom" (in Walt Disney World) was built.

You're right. Mea culpa.

It was great seeing "Gus" Grissom as an action hero.

This. Definitely this.

No love for Pulp Fiction?

My daughter wants one. (Don't judge me.)
