The blue alien floating in the cylinder reminded me of this scene:

According to Wikipedia, 2014 DX110 was discovered just five (5) days ago (28 February). Perhaps it's because of its small size that it went unnoticed until it was at right our doorstep (okay, more like at the end of the driveway). Still, it makes you wonder what you would do if you learned that the earth was going

I came here looking for this. Thank you.

The concept "passenger cell" reminds me of this:

I learned about the universe from Cosmos, technology from Connections, and household physics from Beakman's World.

Thanks for the tip on the grammar video, it was great. Everyone who writes a blog (correction: anyone who writes anything) needs to watch the grammar video.

Troll elsewhere.

OMG THAT WAS AWESOME!
The only thing that would have made that better was if it had been hosted by Animal instead.
"Get out of the way!"

"Troll elsewhere."

Really, this is kind of how I imagine my thought processes look...

I love this movie but I want to see one made much closer to the book.

Would've had a way different reception if it was released on November 2001.

But there's no story!

Fantasia is widely regarded as being ahead of its time. Released in the 40s, it was considered too high brow for most, too juvenile for those who knew the music. I've read (sorry, can't find the reference) that it wasn't until the 60s when people started going to the theater stoned that the movie's popularity

Great pictures! I really like the retro-future look from the 1960s, although most of this looks like Disneyland's Tomorrowland/EPCOT to me (but then I'm a Disneyland fanboy).

While Firefly is my first choice, ten-year-old Ed C. insists I nominate Gerry Anderson's classic series:

If someone could post a clip of Harold in the classroom teaching Da-do-do-run-run or marching to Do-wah-diddy-diddy, that would be most excellent.

Many were probably servants or slaves

I've had similar experiences; not for a while but I did the other night. I'm "awake", laying in my bed but I can't move. And something else is in the room. Eventually I realize I'm asleep so I try to wake up. But there's still SOMETHING ELSE IN THE ROOM. And I still can't move. And I start to scream. But I can't move
