Lived in SoCal for many years and I totally feel your pain. My new city isn’t any better, the traffic where I’m at is also unpredictable. I leave my office about the same day everyday, and some days it will take me half an hour to get home, others an hour —even without any accidents, stalled vehicles, etc on the

I cringed just thinking about this drive, and I only ventured to OC and LA on weekends, couldn’t imagine a weekday commute. Glad that the metrolink is working for you!

When I lived in SD (I just moved away a few months ago) I drove up to LA often. No matter what time of day I left, the 5 was always backed up in San Clemente, then again at Downey/Norwalk. It would easily take me 3 and a half hours to get to Pasadena on a normal weekend.

This is good intel about the Nyx primer!

Fellow Jezzies who live in humid places — I need help! I left arid Southern California for the tropics, and my beauty routine needs serious adjusting.

I’m a gal who’s also in my late 30s, and I totally get feeling like we “should know better by now” when it comes to relationships, but please don’t beat yourself up about this. If anything, he showed you this side of himself before you got even more invested in the relationship and spent more time on it. I’m really

Haha me too. I have days where I can’t handle it.

The last time I gained weight was when I had a gym membership.

I use Blogilates too and am so glad I found the YouTube channel, I really enjoy her workouts!

I honestly can’t remember the last time I blow dried or flat-ironed my hair, other than when it is styled after I get it cut. I have thick, wavy hair, and also with layers. For the past few years I have been showering at night, letting it air dry, then just leaving in the morning. Not only is this amazing for me

I’ve heard so much about Colourpop and can’t wait to check out the eyeshadows and liquid lipsticks!

You mentioned the palettes were pricey, so I was curious and looked it up. $125?! Jesus! I didn’t feel guilty forking over around $60 for an Urban Decay naked palette, but I just couldn’t justify spending that much for eye shadow (even if I could afford it).

It’s still on Netflix, def worth checking out.

Thanks for the scoop on La Mer! I checked beautypedia, and they also gave poor ratings to several products in the line and said they’re not worth the money.

I commented upthread to MeMeMine about my experience with an emotionally abusive ex who also did this to me (constantly waking me, denying me sleep). I have got to say it sounds like you were rather polite and calm with him when he woke you up and I have to give you props for this, because I raised absolute HELL when

Seconding the person from Florida who would start with the oceans. I watched “Chasing Coral” recently, and learned that almost HALF of the coral in a famous bay in my home state has been bleached in the past few years, because of rising sea temperatures.

I was not familiar with this line and just looked it up, and am intrigued! I love perfume, but so many of them give me a headache now.

I don’t have a beauty box subscription, but I’ve been ordering from Nordstrom and getting some pretty rad (and high-end) samples. A few recently that stood out:

I went through something similar when I was living with an emotionally abusive narcissist. He had absolutely no boundaries about sleep.

I finally read two classics that I’ve been meaning to crack open for a long time: Treasure Island and The Old Man and the Sea. And I’m so glad that I did!
