Here’s what I’d like to add:

FOUR?! That is way too much for Santa Monica, or any neighborhood really.

I have not been to one since college. I just looked at their menu online and can feel my arteries clogging just from reading it. There’s an app called a “Buffalo Blast” that has 4,000 mg of sodium in ONE serving, yikes!!! I also have no idea how they pulled off making a fire-roasted artichoke so unhealthy (1,000

Noooo! This makes me really sad to hear. In what neighborhood? I thought Angelenos were much more evolved and adventurous eaters than San Diegans! I’m in San Diego and drive up at least twice a month to visit family, but eating out while there is always on the agenda—especially for Chinese food—since the food scene

Slather sunscreen on your toes/tops of your feet tomorrow (and use a high SPF) before you go to beach yoga tomorrow. Or, wear ankle socks if you can (unless you feel that would hamper the work out/not be safe on the mat). Also, keep in mind that I got this reaction in Hawaii — where the UV Index is MUCH higher than

I know this is going to sound frivolous, but I finally ate at a landmark restaurant in my city, and at another small place that I’ve been meaning to visit, but have put off going to for years. Since I’m such a foodie, this was really nice!

I haven’t used Baby Feet, but a similar product by Tony Moly (a Korean cosmetics brand) called “Changing U Magic Foot” a few times. I’ve found it at Ulta near the register.

I’m impressed! I had an IKEA dresser that seemed heavy and more durable than others, and it didn’t survive a short move.

I agree, IKEA is where you go to furnish your first place. I did as well. But I learned that with their furniture, you can’t really transport it or move it. You have to assemble it and keep it in that same spot. So many other items are hit or mess. And it’s not built to last.

The one in Burbank has become a tourist attraction also lol

I have adopted Kondo’s tactic during this simultaneous purge/move, and you’re right, it really works!! I looked at what is left of my wardrobe that is currently in my closet—the things that I actually will be taking with me—and everything is high-quality, I love the color/cut/style, and most importantly, I actually

Thank you for taking the time to write this all out, this is amazing advice! I’m glad that I least started six weeks in advance, looks like I got one thing right :-)

Is your child a saver or just unorganized if you don’t mind me asking? Since they’re young there is still hope, whereas my dad is a lost cause lol

I know the feeling. I confess I’m in this bind because I did not do enough purging before I had to move. I managed to store things in a hutch in my apartment and forget about them, and now I wish I didn’t.

Two of them? That’s gotta be rough (and you must have the patience of a saint lol)

I was just discarding makeup, and you’re exactly right: I was spending money on certain things to feel better. Instead of addressing the root of the problem, I would buy a new shade of lipstick, or some piece of home decor. Sometimes I would shop for no reason, other than the thrill of the hunt of finding something on

I know the feeling. I moved to my current city at age 32, by myself, for work. Here’s what helped me:

Moving thread!!!

I don’t know what’s worse, the drivers who nervously tell me they moved here “maybe a week ago” and don’t really know their way around, or the locals who say they “never go downtown.” I hear this all the time from Uber/Lyft drivers in my city.

That’s really shitty! So much ugh.
