Mr. Rumsfeld? You may need to stop posting now, Darth Cheney's Imperial shuttle just landed.
Or, bump stock prices before end of the quarter?
Tenths or hundredths of a second, I'm guessing - just long enough for the shock wave to travel past, and that thing is moving pretty quick, hence it being a shock wave and not just a warm, smoky breeze.
The Spice!
My takeaway from this: The BBC is definitely not the NFL. More class, less pragmatism.
Please provide more information about what you want out of a place to live. Just cheap and not hot? Try Detroit.
I don't think anyone is entitled for needing accommodation - I think people are entitled for all thinking they should expect an amuse bouche, which I suspect drives them being on menus. I hate seeing them on the menu, which defeats the whole spirit of the thing. Everyone can't be special, at least not on every trip…
I'm 40 and my wife is 35, and I was raised pretty old school in the south, so when we first started dating, she said (later) she was surprised, but not offended that I opened the car door and things like that for her. She likes some of that, especially on special occasions, but has far too much independence to stand…
Tip like you can afford to eat there - or you can't.
I was taught the opposite, actually: The man sits with his back to the wall, so he can see anyone who approaches the table (service, or other diners he might know) and converse with them without turning in his chair, conduct the business of ordering for both of them, etc. The lady sits with her back to the room so…
I know that its getting more and more common that the amuse is listed on the menu (which really just makes it a hors d'oeuvre) , but traditionally, it was not - it was a gift from the chef to diners he wanted to flatter, for whatever reason. It was whatever he or she wanted to make - ideally a way to offer a sneak…
How DARE you!
I had leftover pizza.
Less humane - they slit its throat while it's still conscious in a lot of cases.
Thanks, Mitt!
Are you kidding?
Ok, so I'm a maximizer - how do I stop optimizing? It's one thing to say "just settle for good enough", it's another to have nagging doubt and buyer'r remorse like an itch you can't scratch because you think you might have made a less-than-ideal decision. If the "just do it" mentality was all it took, I'd never have…
Maybe it's because I have it packed up inside my suitcase, instead of in/on a backpack or my person. . . Anyway, it's not so expensive that I will stop carrying it, but I will be waiting to see if the blue buffoons ever decide to take it. . .
I'm not doubting you at all, but I would love to hear more details/experiences from you and/or others. I always carry a Brita bottle in my suitcase, to avoid the inevitable 'its 11:30pm, why didn't I stop by the store on the way to the hotel, I can't choke down this crap coming out of the tap" thing that probably only…
