Two days ago I saw a vehicle that'd haul those stereotypes.

We have an Echo, and a couple weeks ago my kids were practicing for being ring bearer/flower girl in a wedding. I asked it to play the Wedding March, and it chose Queen's "Wedding March" from the Flash Gordon movie.

"Homepod, what's the weather forecast today?"
"Yo, yo! Today's going to be totally whack with periods of major ownage!"
"Uh… Homepod, I don't know what that means. Homepod? Homepod? Is it going to rain? Can you tell me that?"

Well, if it follows the law of sequels, the pilot's nicknames will be 30% less subtle, the remix of "Danger Zone" ("Strait 2 Tha Zone") will be played 6 times instead of 3, and there will be a cutesy reference to "Take My Breath Away", but a song by a different attractive, young woman.

"We need your magic. There hasn't been another pilot as talented, agile, charismatic, intuitive, crafty, handsome, and wise-cracking in the 30 years since you stoped flying. Also, the North Koreans have killed every single other fighter pilot in America. Just… wiped 'em out."

Stories like this are why so many young people today are being seduced into the fast-paced, glamorous, cocaine-high & vicodin-low world of volunteering at animal adoption agencies.

I don't know. Maybe. You sure can't underestimate the effect of being insulated with people telling you you can get away with anything.
