These are fairly common even in the Rustopia of New England.

The color doesn't look quite right. It must be because I'm accustomed to the faded-rusted look these acquire suffering a minimum twenty winters in Cambridge, MA.

Could it have a trunk full of decomposing mob victims? Bales of banknotes? No doubt the reality is less romantic

@Graverobber: I knew the sequential signals were motor driven but not the specifics. Neither did I know that it was ever replaced by an electronic unit. Thank you for that illuminating bit of history.

They can't rust all that fast. I found a near spotless KG on the rainy streets of Cambridge (the one where they drive on the wrong side of the road) just last year.

@wkiernan: For a summer in college I worked for the USPS and drove the Grumman LLV. What a piece of shit. At 45 mph it felt like the whole thing would shake itself apart.
