Saying “X is justified” - whether by the profit motive or anything else - is making a moral argument.
They aren’t. Argument 1 is an amoral explanation for why people take godawful jobs. Argument 2 is a moral argument, which posits that because Argument 1 is true, it’s both ok that godawful jobs exist, and that they can be exploited.
Who said it’s incorrect? (It’s axiomatic, and often used to explain urbanization in developing countries, but I digress.)
