“Green bean asshole” will never get old
That’s basically accurate. You have to wrap (it’s part of the rules), but a tackled player, if not held, can get up and start running again. So you really want to be grabbing the ball-carrier, putting him on the ground if you can, or holding him up till your team-mates can come in and compete.
Yup - referees tend to grant a little latitude, the rule is that you must attempt to wrap the ball-carrier. The no arms missile-shot is definitely not allowed.
I’d really disagree with that. There are plenty of straight-on collisions. What’s very different is the tackling technique in rugby.
You tend to get more damage outside the scrum - at what they call in rugby the tackle and the break-down (i.e. the aftermath of the tackle).
Pretty rare to see an injury in a scrum actually... maybe the key issue though is that you’re never permitted to target someone’s head. Do so deliberately, and you’re probably getting sent off.
You might be thinking of a different rule - you’re not allowed to leave your feet when you enter a ruck, but there’s no rule against diving to make a tackle.
I might be the biggest rugby fan on this site, but I’d hesitate on saying there are fewer injuries in rugby. We’re not even at the point where we can say there are fewer concussions in rugby (both sports are only just developing independent protocols) - although I would guess that is probably true.
I think we’ve reached the end of the road with these Emmitt Smith jokes.
If this is fancy-assed massive boat, and you’re offering me a free ride on it?
Ah yes, the old Platoon move...
The guy who looks really thrilled is the one who was told he had to tuck his shirt in and pull his socks over his knees.
In fairness, I don’t think it’s the Panthers who are complaining. Just a couple of people with functioning vision who have pointed out the obvious.
I think the title is a tad unfair - or at least, misplaced. On the scale of political bullshitting, where 99% of politicians rate as 10/10, I place Rand at around 7. He’s a slightly bullshittier version of his dad.
This is all kind of obvious, that bad soiling caused someone to leave a skid-mark on Levi’s.
The surprise is not that the turf was so shit, it was that the Panthers didn’t feel right at home on it.
Trust a Scouser to know when he's being robbed.

Peak Manning ball-washing last night was when one Seems or Nantz said how Manning had to suffer through learning the Kubiak offensive system.
