It was one of the legitimately cool things TLJ did. It democratized The Force. On the one hand, you’d expect people to love the idea that, “hey, anybody can be a Jedi badass.” On the other hand, people love the “chosen one” narratives because it’s a power fantasy that they want to indulge in.
