One of the interesting things about Elway’s choice of QBs as a “knower” is that all the QBs he’s chosen are nothing like him as a QB. Elway was sort of ahead of his time as a mobile QB who could extend plays with his feet and improvise. Up until Aaron Rodgers came along, I honestly thought Elway was the most

Some people should get paid more than others. I actually believe there should be some kind of meritocracy in place. I work hard and I’m pretty good at my job, but I get paid the same as lesser performers in my position, and that does kind of drive me nuts. But nobody in any business is worth 1000x more than any other

The problem with your criticisms of “liberal” voters is that many of the options provided to liberal voters are just moderate Republicans. I get it that moderate Republicans are, at the end of the day, preferable to hard right Republicans. But I don’t understand why it’s wrong to demand that Democrat candidates

This sounds about right. Great response.

Yeah, there’s a perception that a lot of people who support the rich getting richer don’t understand that they support the rich getting richer. Or, at the very least, know their politics support increasing wage inequality, but still believe they will one day be the 1-percent themselves.

Not to mention that Julius Randle is already in NO, so you’re basically recreating the mediocre Lakers team from last year. If you’re NO and you accept the Lakers offer, you’re essentially hoping that Kuzma continues to develop, Ingram turns into something functional and Ball is somehow better than he’s shown himself

Eh, maybe. But can you really blame NO for not accepting the first, single, low-brow offer that comes across their faces?

Yeah, but... the other 40 percent have been brainwashed into thinking Neoliberal Democrats gives a shit about them and their causes. They don’t, they just need the stupid people to vote either Democrat or Republican, and believe they have an actual choice because the rich people have enough money to buy everyone off,

My sort of spicy take is that The Wolverine is just as good as Logan until the robot samurai fight. And I loved Logan.

I mean, there’s the obvious that no amount of money makes up for sexual assault.

I’m paying $1200 each month for health insurance, and that’s that my employer contributes $400 each month. Obamacare is not worth defending if these are the kinds of premiums we’re going to be dealing with. The solution has always been single-payer. Anything else is bullshit.

Exactly.

Hell, three-quarters of the splinter commentariat will themselves fall for it.

It did seem like MacDonald didn’t give Dillashaw all that much time to recover

All of it is insane. The Jon Jones fiasco. The way the rankings haven’t actually mattered in some time. The way certain fighters get away with certain actions. The way the fighters are paid and treated. Etc.

I’ve seen this argument a lot on Deadspin. I think it’s a simplification.

Honestly, Bane is one of my favorite villains ever. I think Nolan did both Catwoman and Bane some real fucking justice. The first time I saw the movie, I felt like Bane had wandered in from some monster movie somewhere and didn’t realize he was in a superhero movie.

You’re welcome.

Nolan’s an interesting director because he almost always makes good movies in spite of himself. I don’t want to like his movies because they are so pretentious and up their own asses, but they also tend to be pretty good. TDKR is actually my favorite of the trilogy because he basically gave in to all his id-ish

Watching it the first time, it was the anticipation of The Avengers that got me through the boring parts of the movie. The movie does have some great moments, but when I watch it these days, it’s a mess and most of the movie is pretty boring. The plot is generic and hardly holds all the character threads together. As
