Man, about 17 years ago or so, I worked concessions at a huge movie theater. One of my jobs was refilling the bags of flavored corn syrup that feed into the fountain dispensers. Those bags of syrup cost the movie theater—again, about 17 years ago— about $60 and they produced somewhere in the vicinity of 250 cups of

They’ll just attribute it to the “deep state” or that the lying media used CGI to create the scene, or something.

It’s a major leftist thing now. We shit all over the dems every chance we get, even on the rare occasion when they’re right, because... who the fuck knows. It appeals to our moral superiority or some shit.

Yeah, I get that. I mean it leaned into Nolan-goofy, not typical movie-goofy. Which, at least it was committed. That goes a long way for me. But I get if it doesn’t for anyone else.

It’s a difficult discussion because while I understand the criticisms and think they’re valid, I also think there are some weird lines being drawn.

I always much preferred Rises because you can tell Nolan just sort of went, “You know, these movies are goofy as hell” and kind of leaned into the ridiculousness.

One of the major selling points of “paleo” was that it was more “natural” because human beings have only been eating grains and starchy carbs for about 10,000 years. Evidence comes along and says, “Hey, eating grains is probably pretty natural. We’ve been doing it for at least 5,000 years longer than previously

Well, that escalated quickly.

Carb consumption in the US has been going down for a number of years now, but average weight has not. There doesn’t seem to be any real correlation between protein and consumption and weight management.

It brought the “grimdark.” Took itself really seriously, which we now know is really what matters to a lot of folk. It did have a number of effective scenes, though. I just felt like it didn’t add up to much and very little of it made any sense.

Yes! Exactly. That’s why I love that movie. You can tell a lot about a person based on their response to that movie.

Wolf of Wall St. is an examination of the viewer’s own toxicity. It doesn’t let the viewer off the hook. With Goodfellas and Casino, he knows that many, if not most viewers, will actually be intrigued by the lifestyles presented. We all desire to have that kind of power, money, freedom, etc. But, in the end, that kind

Well, it’s mostly steroids, but, yeah. Exactly.

Running on spineless, centrist, neo-liberal bullshit is what got us Trump.

So you find it more believable that Jon Jones would use “gas station dick pills” than steroids? You find it more believable that the tests are so easy to pass that Costa, Lombard, Ngannou and countless other obvious roiders have never been caught, but Jon Jones just has the dumb luck that he got caught twice despite

I’m not white. I don’t really have a problem with athletes using PEDs, and Lesnar should not be fighting if Jones isn’t allowed to.

I sure do. At the end of the day, he’s a white guy who likes money.

Well...

Also, here’s this interview from a guy who was a bio-chemist for a number of track and field athletes and who used to work with BALCO. It’s a bit old, and some of the testing has gotten better, but I’m sure the chemists have, as well.

I misused the term “halflife.” But I stand by the rest. Here’s an excerpt from an article about T-Bol at ISARMS.com
