It was amazing to see S2ks with heavy damage, mods or branded titles with higher asking prices. One of the ones I saw was apparently repainted like four times....$20k.

Omg they didn’t hold back any punches.

Maybe.  But Chevy is the bigger brand which needs a halo car.

...the locomotive first served on the Reading Railroad out of Pennsylvania before getting shipped off to Arizona.

The Escalade is more high profile than the C8 IMO, at least with the average Joe. This is not a good look for GM. Imagine if Mercedes pulled self driving features from the S class.

Oh gosh no, don’t go downtown. I’m talking about the bypass. Going downtown is a disaster, has been for years, doesn’t even matter when you go.

On the contrary. Stuffing all the cars you see on your commute every day onto a highway with two fewer lanes sticks them into traffic jams much longer. Which absolutely diminishes everyone’s quality of life.

I think the point is that congestion is caused by choke points i.e. entries and exits. Unless the number of those increases to match, it’s like fitting a fire hose to a garden nozzle. You will fit more cars on the road but they could be there even longer, because the flow of the whole system hasn’t increased.

I know the lines are blurred anymore regarding what constitutes an American car company, but technically Lucid is majority owned by the Saudis. That said, I hope they are built right and turn out awesome.

“American”

Right, it doesn’t reduce traffic. We all get that. It does allow more cars to move on the road though, which is the point of roads.

Why does Jalopnik always ignore that widening highways allows more cars to move on the highway? We could eliminate traffic by eliminating all transportation, but that’s just as dumb as saying widening roads doesn’t eliminate traffic. Roads are a necessity. Public transportation should be improved. America is sprawling

If they get anywhere near $23k for that I’ll list my s52 e30 tomorrow.

I loved my E30. Even with the constant maintenance and the sloppy shifter. But 1) it was a great car because all of the parts were engineered for each other. When you swap parts around, you negate the relationship engineering that they have with each other and B) I didn’t pay much more for my much newer car and it is

There’s snow on the ground in one of the pics. So probably taken late March at the most recent?

I’m not a convertible guy at all (targa or T-tops, sure, full on rag top = no thanks). Just adds weight to a performance car and I bet is noticeably less stiff than its hardtop counterparts.

S52 swap, though better than what was there, might have been cool 20 years ago. Now, it’s just replacing an underpowered engine

The phone is cool. The top kinda reminds me of a broken umbrella. ND

Looked at photos, then zoomed over to tickle NO DICE button. Grossly overpriced for what it is. Do. Not. Want! And I like Beemers.

Are the trees already bare in New Jersey? Get the sense these may be year-old photos, at least.

They definitely worked fine. But they’re very difficult to make meet emissions requirements.
