I don’t think anyone disputes the advantage in breathing at high revs for DOHC.  It’s odd there are still those disputing the size, weight, and simplicity advantages of the OHV SBC.

I just don’t get how a $39k Cadillac CT4 gets a 2.0T with 237 hp and 238 lb-ft while my $28k (selling price) Buick TourX gets a 2.0T with 250 hp and 295 lb-ft.
Not that I’m complaining...

So they’re really doing it - throwing away any credibility the “V” cars have gotten for what reason, exactly? So someone can claim they drive a V but only has to pay 45 grand? 325 HP is what you can get in Fusion for god’s sake.

Wider tires equals more unsprung mass, higher aerodynamic frontal area, and greater rolling resistance. So this should be expected. While there is marginally more grip for the rears to launch with, it probably isn’t enough to overcome the tradeoffs, especially with the advent of launch control systems.
