When I see Trump’s design, all I see a combination of these:

(Wikipedia)

Trump wanted this... his failed airline from the 1980s. I think Regean fired ‘em.

No one’s outraged that he wanted to use red, white, and blue.

Red white and blue? We are just trying to keep the plane from being humped by Trump.

Exactly.  If Trump wasn’t attached to it, most people would just say it’s boring, or at least just worse than what it is replacing.  Put Trump on it and half the people love it while the other have grossly exaggerate how bad it is.

Flood cars are a common problem here in Houston. I’ve learned to look for discolored carpets, electronics that don’t work (radio/seats/locks/etc), but most importantly look under the dash and under the seats. Those parts typically aren’t painted because they never expect to be exposed to the elements and rust easily.

The classic livery looks pretty timeless, if you ask me.

I’m sure it doesn’t matter with today’s weaponry, but it’s been light blue since 1962. Long enough for the scheme to become associated with understated power and authority.

It’s a tacky, unoriginal livery that lacks any class, panache, or refinement.

The Trump livery looks “fine” it just looks like an aircraft that belongs to the USPS.

Pointing at something intentionally retro is cheating.

You’re fucking blind if you mix a Q50 dash up with a Venza. But you write for Jalopnik so I guess that goes without saying.

The Ford E Series is even older (E Series goes back to 1992 with only relatively minor updates vs 1996 for the Express) and is surprisingly STILL available. But hey, you can now get it with the 7.3L Godzilla engine, so that is honestly really cool even if you can only now get the van in cutaway form now.

As a matter of fact, INFINITI did do a facelift of the Q50, in 2018. It was just so damn subtle that no one noticed. It comprised new front and rear bumpers, new taillights, and a new steering wheel. That’s about all I can glean.

Yes, Dodge’s line up is old. But at least Dodge has had new updates, engines, trims, etc and hasn’t just been straight up kicking the can down the road like this. Also, Dodge has been having great sales numbers, so at least it’s working for them unlike Infiniti.

I had a thought about the 300 and Challenger, but they get a little bit of a pass because at least they’re pretty singular? Not that I’m a huge fan of either, but there’s nothing out there that really looks like them. They’re iconic at this point, for better or worse. The Q50, to me, could be confused with a range of

What’s the oldest looking new car on sale in America?

My first time in a RHD car was in a 1955 Morgan here in the States. With concentration, I was able to manage ok, although at the first one-two shift away from a traffic light, my right-hand flailed out over the cut-down door opening for the non-existent shifter that my brain somehow thought should be out there.

The Thundercougarfalconbird is happening!
