They should have a function where the screen blinks at you if you haven’t put anything of substantial weight in the bed for some time:
So, in the video I’ve seen of this being demoed there are 2 really important caveats that I picked up on:
This truck is about to end a lot of marriages.
I’m not sure if they still do, but for the longest time, their website implied that the roof cost the same amount as a new regular shingle roof.
I don't see the point of these things. Just put things in the same place every day.
Take sufficient pressure to cause a diamond to flow plasticly, and apply that to a volume of hydrogen to compress it into a metallic solid.
It’s an excimer frozen in its excited state...
You don’t need anywhere near the weight of the vehicle to pull it. If your car is 3000lb, you only need 3000lb if you are lifting it straight into the air. To load a trailer you need a few hundred pounds, most likely that 750lb is more than adequate.
I’ll bet it sounds mighty fine on propane!
It’s an alloy of hydrogen and transparent aluminum.
Just ask Scotty.

What’s metallic hydrogen?
Um, the EPA sticker with mileage is an ESTIMATE, not a guarantee...
I know we like to rip on hydrogen, but it we find a cost effective way to produce metallic hydrogen, we would have a fuel that could be more safe, more plentiful, better for the environment (vs fossil fuel/battery manufacturing), and current day engines could be retrofitted to use it, which is more environmentally…
I had a 2019 Bolt, now have a 2017 Volt. In most respects I liked the Bolt better. The Volt fits our current usage profile better but the Bolt had much better interior space utilization and visibility, and was far more fun to drive. Volt does have more comfortable seats. And of course the complete elimination of range…
After the fix is in place, Bolt drivers will be able to charge to 100%.
Ohhhhhh! You said “winch”! My bad.
HELL YES. I work for an electrical contractor, and our electricians will regularly use drills to pull cable through big runs of conduit instead of by hand. You’d be surprised by how quickly it burns through a battery though.
If not for the stop-sale on used Bolts because of this recall I might own one now. I ended up with another Volt instead (and I think I’m happy with that choice.)
