I’ve been keeping up with these videos because I run an “Open Predator” class go-kart. What I can say is with the right parts and enough disposable income those predator engines can hold their own! I have a fully built 212cc Hemi in my kart which is pushing right around 19hp to the rear wheels, it’s good for 65-70mph

Jimbo deserves a Nobel Prize for advancements in transportation.  A hilarious series and channel.  Like This Old Tony with more engines.

That’s when I turned my attention to the one-inch aluminum spacer ... To check, I lathered it with some silicone

Any questions? Go here. Any problems you might run into have likely already been addressed.  They would have advised you to replace the whole fuel system first.

I would have had trouble not replacing that intake manifold with an aluminum one and moving up to a 4-barrel while both were off the engine (more than likely making matters more complicated, because that’s fun).

Nah, tripping over shit is a blast!

This is a cool story. I grew up in VA working on old cars in my dad’s shop. One of those cars was a poppy red 64 1/2 Mustang convertible. I still have a soft spot for old Mustangs.

Nice job, and nice car!

As a kid of the 80's, I cut my teeth working on my dad’s 69 Bronco and 68 LeMans. The sound of the car turning over and not starting is basically the sound of utter despair.

I had a similar experience to this although for a very different car. I am in the NY/NJ area and was shopping for a lease on the A7 PHEV. While the gas version would have been fine, inventory country-wide is extremely low right now due to COVID-related supply chain issues which means that the days of getting 15% to

I tried buying a Kia Forte GT with a manual a few years ago. The dealer only received one Forte GT manual, fully optioned out and they listed it at 35k. I’m pretty sure it’s still sitting on their lot.

“Of course it has a numbered plaque” then points to the vin plate.

Yeah, Tesla pushes new functionality like this (and more, frankly) via OTA update, weird that they require a visit to the dealership if they already have OTA capability on the cars.

This all sounds like something that can be done OTA. So why is it necessary to take your car into the dealer for two days? Is Porsche throwing a bone to the dealerships so they have something to do on an electric car and won’t feel left out?

Re the CarPlay functionality- it may be that the chip was implemented in the hardware from the getgo, but the software wasn’t ready when the earliest cars were built. VW did the exact same thing with the ID.3- early cars came without CarPlay, which has now been enabled through a software update.

it didnt do well because the dealers were jacking up the prices.

This is generally true, but there are many instances where it’s not. The MK6 Golf R, for example, was a limited allocation of cars to the US across the 2012 & 2013 model years regardless of demand... and had no numbered plaque. (It also sat on dealers lots for a long time because VW listened and made it manual only...

Lol, demand isn’t more than 10% build mix. Your point is moot, this is not limited production per the manufacturer.  If demand increases, they will simply build more.  The dealer trying to profiteer off consumer ignorance isn’t a novel concept, its just a shitty one.

As long as they keep buying his cars, yes.
