There is more savings by not washing and replacing it with a paper one.  Gauze filters allow larger particles into the engine and increase engine wear.

TL;DR

However, I am disappointed that GM says replacing the cabin air filter on the ‘18 Cruze is a dealer service department procedure.  I will find a way to do it on my own.

Hanes Manual is my weapon of choice. But I have seen a lot of shortcuts by forum members which saved time over the Hanes’ procedure.
