Ok, so by that logic, think about what you might do for a living. Let’s say your co-worker steals, and they fire you just for working at the same place. Makes no sense.”

Its gorgeous. I know I’m in the minority but the 456 is together with the 360 challange and 550/575 the prettiest post 2000 Ferraris.

You are a man out of my book. My powerball car would be a T3 syncro Westie with an electric powertrain and solar cells all over the roof

Id like a R1150R (pre servobrakes) with this engine. that chassis is definetly good enough to handle the power. And you wouldnt have to deal with the surging the 1150 notoriously had. I love my R1150GS but its not because of the engine. ive actually been really close to building a K75GS by taking the paralever rear

My thought exactly. As an owner of a 1994 K1100LT SE and the former owner of a 96 K1100RS (my god i miss that bike). I cant se riding it with any other engine. the smooooth powerdelivery is intoxicating.

I mean growing up watching rally with the likes of Mcrae, Burns, Mäkinen, Grönholm, Jari-Matti and many more going over a crest sideways is old hat :D

I suspect the Alpine A310 could keep up the question is though what it would do if it did

Now playing

No thread about a GT40 getting to stretch is legs in conjunction with goodwood is complete without my countryman mr Bräck demonstrating how one is driven in the wet

and ofcourse the obligatory reply

Detta är en idiotiskt snabb bil. Vi vill inte bygga den men vi gillar pengar. så här har ni erat lyx håll-i-ratten personliga sjävmordsredskap (Och vi tänker fan inte bygga en till)

How about using it as a co-host for a carshow

I’ve long said that aslong as the powerband is somewhat flat 90-100hp is more than enough. Right now I own 3 bikes and I have the most fun on the least powerfull one. My -03 Africa Twin has ~70hp and last year i put around 9000miles on it and smiled all the way. I had alot more fun throwing it down a serpentine road

I have

The only valid application i can think of is dudes on huge tourers who spend most of their time going in a straight line. For me milage on the tires isnt the biggest concern. I do around 12000-18000 miles a year and I change tires once a year or once every year and a half. And for that amount of wear im not willing to

I an well aware of why watercooling is superior to aircooling. My gripe is when people use it as a reason why you can’t compare engines to the HD V-Twin when there is no reason for an engine to use aircooling in the year 2020 unless to keep cost down.

Fair enough i didnt really like a comparison between a car engine and a mc engine. But i keep hearing the same argument when the comparison is with other motorcycle engines.

Im getting quite sick of the whole “air cooled” argument. WHY does it matter if its air cooled? I understand from an engineering perspective getting power out of a air cooled machine is hard but why would you?

You apparently are unfamiliar with the early bmw motobricks. Lube the output splines and rear drive splines, change the oil and put fuel in the tank and you’ll expire before the bike.
