To be honest the characters were always a, if not the, main focus. Flashbacks made up 50% of every episode for the first 3 seasons.

At least Sun was kind of a badass during her search. Fucking her father over and almost killing Ben.

Even Claire has the caveat that Emilie De Ravin was busy doing a movie throughout season 5 (I think).

Step faster, Barry!

Ah of course. I completely failed to make the connection because I'm an idiot.

Me neither. I think the closest would be Parks and Recreation but as it's a character-driven comedy I don't think it's really a fair comparison.

Yeah I think they were going to negotiate an end date anyway, but the Writers' Strike during season 4 forced them to cut a couple of episodes out of that season, one of which I believe was going to delve further into Libby's pre-Island life.

Was Chance successful? I somewhat enjoyed it but I didn't get the impression it was well-watched.

Li'l Sebastian wins until Sergeant Peanut Butter gets his own hologram.

I agree but to be fair, having something entirely planned out doesn't mean you have to rigidly stick to it regardless.

I always felt that real-world changes (writers' strike, actors leaving) had a much bigger effect on LOST's story arc than the writers not knowing what they were doing.

I'd say it peaked at season 3 personally. But then i preferred the 20+ episode seasons and the room they gave characters to breathe and just "be." I kind of missed that in the back 3 seasons, particularly 4 (not their fault of course.)

I think I may have spoken about PoI with you before, but yeah season 1 is definitely the least strong. I'd be interested to get your thoughts as you progress.

There's nothing wrong with being a LOST nut.

Judging by his sister, Snart is white.

Please, don't call him a hero. He's something different.

It would have been much more powerful if they'd have let Gustin sing that last song live. Something about the lip syncing took me out of the moment.

Anchovies anchovies, you're so delicious,
I love you more than all the other fishes!

Does it weird you out as much as it does me that Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Buffy both came out in the same year? (In fairness HP came out a year later in the US)

Yeah I don't think the Angelus/Angel fight in Orpheus was supposed to be literally two people battling it out. It was the two sides of Angel's personality.
