A USAF member overextended on credit to purchase a vehicle they can’t really afford? De rigueur, man, de rigueur.

No, turns out you’re right and I’m wrong. Some species can tolerate saltwater 24/7. I grew up in south Florida and I swore I was told they can tolerate high salt levels but not live perpetually in pure seawater.

I stand corrected.

The south never saw a lost cause it wouldn’t commit to.

Mangroves don’t grow in ocean water, they grow in brackish water. You can’t just put them on beach and have a mangrove......uh, grove.

Another edge use that appeals to me: I sometimes have to get up in the middle of the night and do work on the computer. Being able to pull this off the nightstand, review lab values, look at radiology imaging, and input my orders without having a brightly glowing screen waking my wife seems like a nice benefit.

I heard FL follows the rules of the state the conviction took place in. In this case, NY, so he CAN vote.

Not one mention of the classic white panel van?

Obligatory Last Starfighter reference.

I’ve never seen the past tense of yeet before. But, well....there it is.

Re: Shapeshifters.

I remember as a kid, my uncle would be trailed by someone with their high-beams on and my aunt would just reach up and adjust the rearview mirror until she reflected the light right back into the following driver’s eyes.

There’s a very clear signal. You are now approaching the car instead of maintaining a set distance. For ICE cars, that’s not much of an issue, but these cars with heavy regenerative braking, where taking you foot off the accelerator is akin to braking, I could see this being a problem.

Another factor that rarely gets mentioned: You have to arise on a fairly small planet in order to escape the gravity well. If the Earth were 50% more massive than it currently is, our existing rocket technology would not be able to achieve escape velocity. We would have to develop something completely different and

As an experience, seeing it on a nice large format screen with a well-set-up Atmos sound system was fantastic. The engines shook me in my seat. The visuals I loved so much in Fury Road are still on display here. The clear and well-telegraphed choreography and camerawork of the actions scenes remain top-fucking-notch.

I pretty much had my perfect set-up. I have a Jeep Wrangler that I’ve owned for 29 years now, was my DD for most of my youth. Porsche 911 with a stick. Suburban for hauling kids to whatever and it can fit a sheet of plywood in the back.

Those poor bees. My heart goes out to them.

Tik-Tokker (not a just user, a content producer): flag one.

No brand is more associated with an older generation than Cadillac, except for perhaps Buick or Oldsmobile. They know who their buyers are and they tend to shy away from complicated newfangled gadgets (like VCRs!).
