I think the steel was a good bit more brittle than usual plates of steel as well. Some contamination in the coking process or something. 

I know I’ve heard this fact a bunch of times about the bulkheads not going to the top, but this was the first time I just imagined the bottom of the Titanic as a giant ice cube tray. 

I get that you were paraphrasing what he said, but you put quotation marks around the statement as though it were a direct quote. You shouldn’t do that.

Currently, ALL of them. They are just so, so terrible. And I thought the banglebutt was bad, but to me the greatest travesty was going from the E39 5 series to the E60. Gadzooks! was that ugly when compared to the previous generation, even without considering the banglebutt.

Ming Na-Wen was all the special effects AoS needed.  I genuinely loved that show, warts and all.

A memoir only recalls events of the past. You don’t have to be at the end of your life to have a past. It’s not the same thing as a biography.

It’s too bad The Good Dinosaur wasn’t well-received. It’s not top-tier Pixar, but it’s not a bad film at all. The only thing I find “wrong” with the movie is that the setting and landscapes are rendered so beautifully and naturalistic, the cartoony-ness of the characters is jarring.

In some places a single hashbrown is $3. It used to be 2 for a buck. 

Every time it’s on sale on Steam, I send copies to people in my friend list who don’t have it in their library. I think I’ve bought about 20-25 copies thus far, albeit at bargain basement prices.

Again, to be clear, we’re talking about a product that is unavailable and can only be had for stupid sums of money.

So if someone were to say, scan the label off their copy and you could...say...print it off and then slip it into an empty plastic game cartridge holder, I could like, pretend I have a physical copy and just go ahead and download the digital version and it would be almost the same thing and I would keep [checks notes]…
