I grew up in a rural area, where I learned that big trucks are for posers. Also, in the winter, the two most common cars to see in a ditch by the side of the road were Jeeps and big trucks where they didn’t have the common sense to weight down the back
I gave it the benefit of the doubt in that in most noir, plot is an afterthought. Like, the plot of The Big Sleep is literally impossible, and Raymond Chandler didn’t know or care.
I was visiting a friend in Istanbul, and he took me to a Georgian (country, not the state) restaurant above a commercial truck stop. The food was amazing, though we also had dinner at like 4:30, because they also make their own bootleg liquor and the chef is too drunk to cook by 6.
Motherless Brooklyn got short changed. Great book, and an underrated movie.
I judge people that claim they don’t want to judge people.
I’m imagining the book like Mark Twain’s autobiography, where he didn’t want it released until after he was dead because he talked so much shit about important people.
I really don’t understand some people’s hatred of capers, I absolutely love them.
I met John Waters at a bar in San Francisco years back, I think it was called Dear Mom. Nicest guy ever, he bought me a drink, took a picture with me and we chatted for a minute. I feel like you much more often hear celebrity-sighting horror stories than things like that.
One of my best friends was almost on Jeopardy, he got to the final round of interviews. My guess is the only reason he wasn’t picked is that he had a very pervy mustache at the time. RIP Alex, true icon.
I grew up in Maine. Side salad is not it. My best guess is it popped up on Google Trends because people didn’t know what it was.
Totally agreed. I’ve listened to this already maybe a half dozen times today
Marnie, only for the cider donuts.
She looks like the Bent Neck Lady in the sixth episode of Haunting of Hill House.
Eggs Woodhouse for sure.
Just wait until you hear him play guitar.
That video scared the hell out of me.
My love is bigger than your love.
