Sounds like it might be time for a facebook friend purge.

I would person liken this to the time my mom told me if I didn’t quit hitting my brother she’d pull over and make me walk home... We were only a mile away but that was one loooong as walk!

Couldn’t crack the top 10% of a TEXAS school no less. With the garbage that state is pushing, it’s even more damning.

I also find it interesting that she chose to omit that she graduated from a top tier public high school in the Houston suburbs. Most top level public universities in the US could fill 80 to 90 percent of their freshmen class from the high school graduating classes from their larger cities and suburban areas. Texas

That’s some crazy white people shit right there.

Yes I spoke with another person who replied about the same thing. Those groups and lawyers are just as much to blame but they also wouldn't have had anyone to prop up if she and her family had said no. So they're all terrible.

My favorite storied student simile is: “The boat glided across the lake just like a bowling ball wouldn’t.”

What a ridiculous, backwards case to make. Given her lengthy experience and qualifications, it is perfectly fair to say that “it’s time” and “she’s earned it” with complete disregard for her gender.

As a WOC, when I got to “What if she had to watch other people get what she’d worked hard for just because of the color of their skin?” I was like …

THIS. Something can only be "stolen" or "taken" from you if you owned it, or you were entitled to it, in the first place.

So much of the college process is who fits the best rather than what the basic numbers say. I got accepted by University of Chicago, but was rejected by Hamilton College. I'm sorry, but no one can make the argument that UofC and Hamilton are on the same level academically, but I was still turned down. Why? Every

The expression of willful denial. You weren't good enough, girl. Get over it.

She got admitted to UT under the CAP Program.

Yes! I graduated from UT Austin and had several friends who did the CAP program. It's not a bad deal and super practical- spend a year in San Antonio, Dallas, Arlington, etc. and then come to Austin. Why didn't she pursue this route instead of pitching a fit?!

EXACTLY. I graduated the same year as her, knowing my entire high school career that if I wanted to go to UT or A&M I needed to be top ten percent. Not should be, needed to be. I ended up going out of state, but if I had chosen to, I could have gone to either...but then again, I worked my ass off instead of

Oh, sweetie. You can't read and that's sad.

I'm a Hispanic who was accepted into UT in 2008. I sincerely hope that I was the so-called "undeserving" minority that took your place, Ms. Fisher.

If she was smarter and/or a better student, this wouldn't be a problem. Texas public universities automatically admit the top 10% of every school's graduating class. There are also automatic admission standards for different levels of SAT scores combined with class rank percentage. If she failed to meet these

I'll try to be nice... oh screw it.
