And I know it’s oppressive and all to comment on Hillary’s clothes but I loved this suit on her. It was simple, classic, vaguely nun-like (“cool” guitar mass nun style) and flattering. Quite the contrast on that and like 7 million other points.

My husband’s phrase for this is looking like a soup sandwich. I think that perfectly describes Trump’s “look.”
What is that on the table? Is that the world’s biggest book (that I’m sure he’d never, ever read)?
My dad, in his more asshole-ish moments, would yell out “WRONG” during arguments he was losing. Just like Trump...
I can live with that. I actually saw it this weekend and enjoyed it for what it is. After a somewhat boozy. brunch. With my book club Mom friends. We honestly just needed to sprinkle a little Pumpkin Spice on that afternoon and it would have been the perfect parody of white 30-40 something womanhood in 2016...
Exactly. Somehow this has become commonplace during the anthem but there is no “requirement” that this be done. It’s like f’ing flag pins all over again. So ridiculous.
The streaming stuff isn’t bad. Much less commentary, all the interesting/less “popular” sports you never seen on TV and barely a mention of spouses, drug-addicted birth parent/s, etc. Just athletes competing. Imagine that!
Or NBC has to cover a zillion events all over Brazil so their staff resources are spread thin and it gives rise to a lot of air time of so-called “sports journalists” covering sports and events they know next to nothing about and they are left to fill lots of minutes of air time with whatever half-baked idea runs…
I’d forgotten about the John Tesh years...
The tweet he deleted...
The guy doing the gymnastics commentary who isn’t a former gymnast (Trautwig?) also caused a minor dustup on Twitter today by refusing to accept/acknowledge that Simon Biles’ parents (by adoption) are, in fact her legitimate parents. Like he has some “journalistic obligation” to put a qualifier on it for her and the…
Used to be a better than just good ACT and/or SAT score was an automatic in too. So really, anyone who was paying attention in a TX HS knew the drill. Be top 10% or go to U of H for a year.
exactly. she has to live with the derision she has richly earned by being the “face” of this farce of a case (says this UT grad who has never even bothered to consider milking the “network” for contacts...)
Exactly! Every HS kid in TX with aspirations to go to UT or A&M (shudder) knows being in the top 10% is EVERYTHING.
What really screwed her in TX wasn’t just a 3.59 GPA. It was that she wasn’t top 10% of her graduating class. That’s the golden ticket into UT. She went to some mega-huge, upper middle class HS in suburban TX where top 10% likely wouldn’t be anything south of a 3.9 No way she didn’t know that going in. I moved to TX…
And there were also plenty of minority students with BETTER grades and scores than Fischer who were also denied admission. And white students with lower grades who got in. Holistic admissions standards are complex to allow for numerous factors—not simple race or GPA. So before you rush to this simpleton’s defense, you…
Exactly. It’s just a bunch of poorly written, non-sensical sentences to try to committing rape doesn’t make you a racist b/c cute yearbook photo? And this from a woman who has the temerity to call her Haim-wannabe band “Good English.”
Sort of like how African-American voters, in large numbers, voted to re-elect Emanuel who, even while hushing up the real story about what lead to Laquan’s death, had ignored the problems on the South and West sides, put up red light cameras disproportionately in black neighborhoods, closed dozens of local schools…
He deserves it.
I’m all for keeping the pressure up but he won’t resign unless he can score himself a “better” position that he can spin as a step up. He won’t want to lose face. And since we can’t recall him, he’ll likely survive this term. The key is not making it possible for him to run again.
