This is why TikTok should be banned. It has created a system where people are incentivized for hurting others and causing mayhem. American-owned companies like YouTube don’t reward challenges or allow them to go viral, whereas TikTok actively encourages it.
The real problem is that we’re not recycling all the older cars. Plenty of batteries and other components can be found in the cars we send to junkyards. The cost of recycling is what prohibits us from doing it, so there needs to be incentives to help with that.
Private citizens driving/boating/flying fewer miles is not an option? Strange, we managed to keep society going when the pandemic restrictions were in full force. We got rid of all non-essential transportation and all the traffic jams disappeared with it. It was so effective that oil companies started shutting down…
EVs aren’t usable in all parts of the state at all times of the year. Have California lawmakers ever visited the Sierras in winter?
I live in an area where we regularly get temperatures as low as -20F during the winter. I installed heated seats and need to wear a few extra layers while the interior warms up. Gasoline engines fire up just fine at these temperatures, diesel might need a block heater for the colder days. Store your vehicles in a…

The average driver is expected to survey their surroundings and adjust their driving depending on road conditions. We know that is an expectation that will fail for some drivers, regardless of how much instruction and warnings they are given, so we create insurance to manage that risk.
This is only applicable in the cities. If you live far enough away from the urban centers you pay less and can get away with a lot more.
If Elon’s Twitter shitposts upset you that much, I bet you’ll be super mad when you learn that politicians have been lying to you, too.
What’s your definition of “self-driving”? Does it need to be the same or better than a human at the whole of driving, or does it just need to be able to drive itself for specific parts of the journey?

These cars are covered in cameras. How in the world is some scammer going to prove that the car was at fault if everything around the car is being recorded?
