The 5th Gen 4Runner shares the same platform as the Land Cruiser Prado. The Prado stayed the same for 13 years, too.

Blame favicons and digital media. It’s difficult to discern all the intricate details of the logo when it’s squished into browser tabs and tiny web page banners. A simpler logo is easier to identify when it’s 1/10th its normal size.
