Hearing about how much rules have neutered defenses causes cognitive dissonance when defenses have dominated virtually every game I’ve watched this year. I took last year off because Bengals but I don’t remember it being like this before.

Is her thought, “He’s so funny, it’s a perk that he’s rich as fuck,” or is it, “he’s rich as fuck, and as a bonus he’s really funny!”

I’ve at least kept an eye on the game in every time slot this year except the opener, when I was busy. That’s roughly 9 games so far. Not one has been entertaining. This might be the year the NFL’s hubris collides headon with the declining play and finally marks the start of the inexorable decline.
