Trump isn't a 4d chess master as claimed by some. He tends to do what's expedient and the best immediate option. I'm sure there was little thought of the long term issues w Whittaker.

The concern of the House investigation hindering a criminal trial is real. It's why Ollie North isn't in prison.
I believe the answer is “yes” the AG could direct a US Attorney to drop charges and/or an investigation. But, it would really have to be a direct order.
Thinks Mueller investigation is a waste? Participates in a business who's main source of income is fraud? No wonder Trump likes this guy!
“I had a bag of CTE this weekend!"
Womp womp! Sherrod Brown got my vote!
Is Richie Incognito the coach?
“Then we’ll make fun of them for being gay and liking it!”
Just by needing to be more compact and contiguous, it’s harder to do, but not impossible. While it’s hard to judge, I’d say none of the Ohio senate districts are nearly as convoluted as House 1, 4, 7, 9, 11, and 12. There’s certainly a few that look ugly (Ohio 1, 5, 6 and 31 jump out). Just by percentage of elected…
Because Sessions is grateful that Trump gave him the opportunity to oppress a bunch of brown and black people, so he's trying to do Trump a favor on the way out?
Faux News spent the morning explaining how it's good for him, since he now has something to run against in 2020. Because running on what he's done is a short, grift-filled list.
If the problem is Republicans who didn’t embrace him, how does he explain Dana Rohrbacher, Jim Renacci and Corey Stewart losing? And while it wasn’t a federal election, what about Scott Walker and Kris Kobach losing? Oh wait, that'd require hin to use logic and ignore the white hot fire of his rage fuelled ego.
Depends on the state. Ohio tends to follow county boundaries for the state level. Not perfectly, but it is much better than for the federal districts. The Republicans tend to control about 2/3 of the state house and state senate, which is still a little above their expected seats, but as as severe as for the US House.
“If the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money...”
At this point, gains at the State level are arguably more important than the Federal. New house districts will be drawn in 2021 by state governments. The Democrats don't need to gerrymander in their favor, just draw completive districts. Look at Ohio. About 55% of voters go republican, but 12 of 16 Representatives are…
Nice to see they're trying to soothe the rage of the Grifter in Chief and Faux News #1 fan.
Winning the House is enough. Democrats can hold honest investigations of the Trump administration.
I doubt this is the last we've heard of Kobach. I'm sure there's another lawsuit he can lose and get more remedial lawyer classes.
What’s transparent and left in the gutter?
I hope King and Mitch McConnell elope to Russia.
