I recognise this so much. I did the same. Except he wasn’t drunk in my case so I didn’t even have that excuse for him. Though really we all know there’s no excuse for it.

What I want is a policy that keeps the camera on no matter what to protect my taxpayer money that keeps being used to pay off the victims of moron cops after the inevitable lawsuits. Don’t want the camera? Go work the mall security patrol.

you can dismiss trolls’ comments

you get out of here with that logic and shit.

Yes, I believe there was a study that showed the only time vest-cam use lowered police abuse rates was when they were always on. If the officers had the option to turn them off, abuse rates were worse than no vest cams at all.

There is no “higher standard.” All women are fair game for any man to do anything to us, at any time.

In college a knew a massive douchebag coke-head / coke dealer, drunk, liar who was working towards being a cop. It was all he wanted to do for a living.

You turn off your recorder or claim its “broken” and don’t immediately return to base, that’s a suspension. How this isn’t basic policy is just stupid thin blue line crap.

I used to work at a dive bar in a dicey neighborhood before the advent of cell phones. I remember being told never to stop if a cop tried to pull me over late at night, but to put on my hazards and drive to the nearest fire station, hospital ER or anywhere with a large well lit parking lot and lots of people around

Yes...but I’m glad dispatch called them on it. And I’m glad the women complained officially about the harassment.

Maybe letting them have control of the camera was really dumb.

Joke is on you. He is actually Captain A*****e, reading from a polite transcript. Lieutenant A also has the same transcript, so save you time.

Sorry, Captain Polite, I’m not buying your oh-so-mannerly explanation. I want to hear from Lieutenant Asshole.

Not rare at all. Common enough that my Dad has always told me to tie up my hair when I drive to avoid calling it to the attention of the cops that I’m a woman. Note that he specifically said cops, not bikers, not truckers, he worries about cops. What a world we live in.

Why do I get the feeling these guys became cops specifically for the purpose of meeting women and using their authority to force/coerce them into dates or worse?

Yup, that is her name. I remember because she played her husband’s sister, which is a bit weird, and because I constantly confuse her with Hope Solo, and have to look up who is who.

I loved her on Dexter! I went on to learn via the TV Tropes article that Dexter fans don’t like her character very much, and I can’t for the life of me understand why.

Oh wow today I learned that my grudge against Paramore turns 10.

Thought you were talking about Alex Skargard and was like ON MY WAY.

If I could access the publish button on an edit I would fix my misspelled  post but can’t so I’m just going to enjoy the kinja “finite” scrolling where apparently for the last several days Taboola ads are the most important thing.
