There might be a chance of this having some good change in Philly if Outlaw decides to actually stand for something, but central PA is still super fucked.  Those guys are on a power trip out of your worst nightmares.

Shoofly* because it’s so sweet that you have to waive the flies away. You can get it as a pie too, it really depends where you are getting it from. Sometimes it’s like coffee cake, sometimes it’s a pie. Shoofly pie is one of those things that is so cheap to make that nobody stands on ceremony about the “correct” way Read more

Even if that were true, which it really fucking isn’t, would it not make sense to you know, ADDRESS THE ISSUE?!

You can get some great sandwiches in Philly without ever even looking at a cheesesteak.  Related: do not go to Pat’s or Geno’s....ever.

You forgot the pinnacle of high school rom-com drama: Oregairu.

I live in Philly and it has been a clusterfuck. We have a sizable Jewish community that’s pissed. You have progressives that are similarly pissed. Then you have the MAGA white supremacists siding with both of them because they want to see a black man tarred and feathered the way they (incredulously) perceive they have Read more

I don’t know what kickstarted this grimdark trend in games, WN, and LN in Japan but I guess someone is buying this stuff because it keeps being made.

The rising infamy of Pennsyltucky warms my heart.  Head west from Philly and once you start seeing Sheetz and Steelers flags, you know you’re there.

Agreed. I would hope that there’s a pretty compelling case for third degree where it is a dangerous act “without regard for human life but without intend to cause death”.  Pretty sure Chauvin had no regard for human life as George Floyd begged for his.

This is Minnesota, where depraved heart murders for some reason carry a third degree sentence rather than a second degree sentence like plenty of other states.

It is entirely possible to be outraged and demand justice for George Floyd while also condemning the people who destroyed and/or looted essential businesses like Cub supermarkets and pharmacies, not to mention the burned down affordable housing project that was under development.

I’m a huge fan of the logistics of everything. Absolutely insane how every aspect of our trip was polished to a mirror sheen. I’d love to watch a documentary just on how they pull everything off. Read more

We have a mid-80s church cookbook that we got for like $2 at a rummage sale. It won’t win any awards for innovation or high concept but boy does it deliver when we need a dish to bring to a dinner party.

I’d like to add the Kyle Larson Postulate to our lexicon.  When caught making a racial slur, the ease in which it was said is proportionally related to the liklihood of it being said in private.

I think you nailed it especially when the person deciding to go vegan doing it out of ethics. The ability to deliberately exclude certain foods in your diet out of personal belief is a privilege when food insecurity is so prevalent.

That’s really pleasant packaging to look at now.  Maybe I’ll add this to the irresponsible number of butters I have in my fridge.

I don’t understand this move at all. Bernie is behind and about to be further behind after FL and GA. Your only hope is to get Biden to stumble, something he’s prone to when off the cuff, and to show the undecideds that you have some fire. Instead you negate both of these by giving your opponent literal bullet points Read more
