A few of the indie titles I've been meaning to pick up, awesome.

Did anyone else play the (subpar) Xbox/360 version of Battlefield 2? The multiplayer was iffy and nothing like actual BF2, but the campaign was kinda cool, and it had a really good swapping mechanic. Look at a fellow soldier, and no matter how far away he is, tap "Y" to take over. There were actually little challenges

I haven't really been a fan of Nintendo's controller designs over the years, but then again, it's kinda hard to rank, say, Playstation's controllers lol.

With the PS2 that wasn't true at all. Along with a lot of PS3 games also getting PS2 versions, there were plenty of games released for that console after the PS3's launch. Notable, God of War 2 came out in 2007, but came out on PS2 instead of PS3.

Yeah, but that's not the norm, a lot of people were surprised and upset when MS stopped supporting the Xbox after a year.

I still haven't picked up StarCraft 2. I kinda suck at RTS games, and my personal favorite genres are more along FPS/RPG/Indie lines, so it hasn't reached the top of my "games to buy" list yet. I do intend to, though, my roommate loves it and it seems pretty fun. Maybe I'll pick up SC2 and HotS at the same time.

That could be a big part of it. I didn't know much about it going in, other than it was an id FPS featuring car combat and a post apocalyptic setting, and that it was running a new engine.

I never got the hate on that game, I loved the shit out of it. Beautiful graphics, amazing animation, good gameplay (wingsticks were awesome) and decent length. I think too many people went in expecting an RPG like FO3 when it was clearly an FPS with a few RPG elements.

No compression on the textures and high resolution cut scenes take up tons of space. Max Payne 3 was like 31GB on PC because they didn't compress any of the cutscenes, textures, or music.

Oh I know graphics don't make the game, but the gunplay didn't look good either, and controlling aliens in MP looked terrible, too. And I know they're good devs, I played a lot of Borderlands (haven't picked up 2 yet though), and they also did a fantastic job with Halo PC port. Never played Brothers in Arms but heard

What's that hiding in the picture of my PC area? IS THAT AN XBOX? AND COULD THAT BE OVER 60 360 GAMES ON THE SHELF IN VIEW OF SAID XBOX?

I'm starting to save up to buy one of the 2 consoles at launch. Being the Halo/Gears loving guy that I am, I'm obviously leaning towards Xbox. But, if one console doesn't allow used games or has always online DRM, fuck it. Halo's been a part of my life since Halo 1 came out, and I've put thousands of hours (and

They were wrong then, because I replayed the entire series leading up to Halo 4, and when I checked out the online portion of H2V, there was usually 7-8 servers with anywhere from 6-16 players each. Of course, that's pretty anecdotal, as maybe they were "getting ready" for H4 as well, but it was definitely well above

But you can't play Halo 2 on Xbox online either.

I hope Aliens CM doesn't suck.

Damn, and I was pissed when my last ex never got me my copies of LotR back.

Oh yeah, I played WoW for years, had thousands of hours into that game. Fantastic game, but I've moved on, and it sucks that as long as WoW is around we'll probably never get another Warcraft. Warcraft 3 is my favorite RTS of all time, I really enjoyed the idea of mixing in a dose of RPG with my RTS. Although WH40k

Sadly, TOR probably fucked that up for us for a while.

I like Obsidian, but fuck, stop being an apologist for them. They always seem to be under funded and not allowed enough time. Therefore, it's ok for them to release games that don't work? No, its not ok. They still charge $60 for their games and wait for people to find out after they pay for it.
